How GEORGE ORWELL died: At 46 years, Orwell dies after suffering from tuberculosis, a disease he apparently contracted during a time he describes in “Sin White in Paris and London”.

In his childhood, Orwell suffered several respiratory diseases, in addition to developing bronchialectomy, which is a disease characterized by causing the bronchi to be constantly dilated and causing coughing attacks.

On one occasion, during 1938, he coughed up with blood and went to the hospital immediately. It was at that moment that he was diagnosed with tuberculosis.

Years later, and shortly before his death, he married a second time. However, his health was very declining, so he spent his last years of life from hospital to hospital.

Finally, the man whose work is marked by his experiences of life, died on January 21, 1950.

Before his death, George Orwell wanted to be buried following the Anglican rite, and his remains are found in Sutton Courtenay, Oxfordshire.
